Automotive Technology I

Advance College Credits:
This course participates in an articulation with Chabot College


This automotive training program instruction covers basic knowledge in brakes, suspension and steering, engine performance and electricity/electronics. Course content includes instruction in safety, industry standards, related automobile operational theory, diagnosis and troubleshooting, and repair procedures.

  • Automotive parts, carburetion, front-end alignment
  • Major engine tune-up and performance
  • The function of fuel systems, brakes, engine overhaul and electronic repairs
  • Troubleshooting, analysis and shop practices

Automotive Technology II
TRecognized by the Department of Education as a MODEL PROGRAM.

Auto Technology II is a NATEF certified advanced program for students seeking specialized training designed to meet standards set by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). This automotive training program is designed to support certification standards supervised by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). Prescriptive instruction covers brakes, suspension and steering, engine performance and electricity/electronics. Course content includes instruction in safety, industry standards, related automobile operational theory, diagnosis and trouble shooting, and repair procedures. Students will be exposed to the automotive business and industry and provided with entry-level job skills.

Graduation Credits:
Meets 3rd year Math academic requirement for San Lorenzo Unified School District

Eligibility:
High School juniors, seniors, and adults

State Department of Education Recognized Model Program

Requirement:
Adults must attend a R.O.P. orientation prior to registration

Hours:
3 hours (daily)
8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
or 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
