What is the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)?
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014 enacted a comprehensive youth employment program for serving eligible youth, ages 14-24, who face barriers to education, training, and employment.

Program Expectations:
All youth enrolled in the WIOA youth initiative program will be required to participate in WIOA activites and services that meet their educational and employment goals. As you progress and complete the following phases in the youth program, you may receive support services that meet your individual educational and employment goals.
- Eligibility orientation
- Pre and post assessments
- Comprehensive case management services
- WIOA program elements
- WIOA goal attainments
- WIOA follow-ups
* Student participants will be expected to complete an internship for a minimum of 30 hours. Internship opportunities will be provided. Upon completion of their internship, and the expectations above, participants will be awarded a $1,000 stipend.
